Element H2o
For this series I explored the context in which sight and sound are lost. I wanted the viewers to be lost by the images and to create an uncertainty as to what sounds would accompany each picture. Whether they would be the sounds of panic or just the sounds of slumber. I wanted the viewers senses to slow, making them want to see breath and life put back into these colorless images. I wanted these images to cause the viewers to be unsettled, but to sense that the people within the images are showing no fear, just serenity and peace. Every image contained the element of water and worked to explore the different forms, using it to unite these images together and to show the unification of water and the human soul.

Pain & The Human Concern
For this body of work the images are focused on the pain of others, I used photography to capture the human concern by photographing premature babies. These images were done in black and white to take away from the distraction of colour and to make the images more dramatic. The work was meant to evoke an emotional response with parents, seeing a child helpless and in pain would naturally cause them emotional distress being mothers and father themselves. I later found that the images were even able to resonate with individuals without children of their own, as most people were concerned for the well-being of these fragile individuals.

Intimate Life
In the series Intimate Life I began to photograph various people and their scars. Since a scar is an intimate memory in someone’s life they can never forget that moment, they will always be reminded by their scar of that incident. Every scar was different and had character, I had each person who was photographed tell the story behind their scar and then attempt to sum up their experience of that scar in a single word. For image 1 the word was Vanity, since the two time Breast Cancer survivor said she did not have to get new breasts but she wanted them, she needed them. For image 5 the word was New-Life, since the scar was the result of a C-section from birthing one of her children. So as you can see the scars title that persons experiences, while the scars act as a constant reminder.

This series is about how people use the materiality of makeup to transform themselves to what social media says is the true representation of beauty. To represent that masking I used gift wrapping papper, since we use gift wrap to conceal a present and to make it more astetically pleasing. (More to be written)

Hydrophobia
This series expresses my love & fear for water, using a series of self portrait images to express the longing that I have to be out on the water sailing or how I have to always be close to the water or swimming within a swimming pool. While expressing my fear and anxiety toward dark and murky water that is present in the images in a possibly demure sense of way. The rope used to hold myself back from the water represents the restrictions that prevent me mentally from entering dark and murky waters, and the physical pain that my body struggles through to try and be apart of it. The images are in a sort of time sequence showing the struggle from the begging to the mental exasperation and then the final submission into the waters depths.
